After a long period in which it had ignored the youth segment of the fountain pen market, from 1986 Pelikan produced fountain pens suitable for young people again. Every year a new series with changing colors and motifs was launched. All youth pens had an M size nib. Some series also came with other writing instruments such as ballpoint pens or rollerballs in the same design or matching motifs.
Pelikan launched a new series of youthfillers in 1986 with a Twist P10 Gray-Yellow, followed by many other color and model variants. All are simple Twist fountain pens made of plastic with a colored beak clip. Each Twist P10 is composed of single-colored moldings to form a pen with two different colors. The manufacturer can only be recognized by the Pelikan logo at the end of the cap and at the nib embossing. In 1989, ballpoint pens (Twist K10) were produced for the first time in the colors of the fountain pen. The colors of the writing instruments are modern hues, selected according to recommendations from leading fashion institutions.
A new series under the name Twist has been produced since 2013. You´ll find the pens at the page school and youngsters´ fountain pens.

In the Netherlands, the model Studio P10 was sold. It is similar to the model Twist P10, but the barrel including the end cap was molded in the same color.
These studio models with white barrel, white cap and changing colors on the clip were also printed with bar patterns. Which other clip colors were produced and under which name these pens were sold is not known.

From January 1987, Pelikan offerd the Twist P10 as well as the Twist P20. In contrast to the P10, the surfaces of the barrel and the cap are printed with at least one and up to four colors. The P20 started with a simple bar pattern. As with the P10, the manufacturer Pelikan can only be recognized by the logo at the end of the cap and the engraving on the nib.
Over time (from 1990) the printing technology is refined. The motifs are printed more complexly and with more than four colors. The Pelikan logo now is shown at the opening of the cap.
Twist P20 ball-point pens (Twist K20) are produced with the same motifs.
The loop on the last photo is an accessory for decorating the clip. The loop is easily removable and universally usable with the Twist models.
In 1988 an edition based on the Twist P20 was produced that was designed by the Dutch artist Corneille. This fountain pen was sold in a very small edition of only in the Netherlands.
Corneille (real name Guillaume Cornelis van Beverloo; born July 3, 1922 in Liege (Belgium); died September 5, 2010 in Auvers-sur-Oise (France)) was a Dutch painter, sculptor, poet and co-founder of the artist group CoBrA. His paintings developed strong colors and had a substantially reduced construction. After 1967 his drawing technique changed to use often symbolic imagery.
Corneille is considered one of the greatest artists of modern art from the Benelux countries.
In the period from 1990 to 1994 Pelikan changed the design of its youth fountain pens: The cap top, the barrel's end and the grip section were always made of black plastic. The clip and the nib is gold plated. The varying designs were multicolor printed on a white background.

In November 1994 Pelikan produced three youth fountain pens as piston fillers. The cap top with the clip, the filling knob and the grip section of each fountain pen is made in one color. The color print on the cap and the barrel shows animal motifs. After 6 months, the production of this piston filler was reinstated.
Matching the Nature Pen, three smaller 18-ml ink barrels were also available in green, orange and blue. On the lids of the kegs one could stick a button with the pictures of the seal, the elephant or the whale. All stickers carried the text: Stop killing!

The motifs of the cap and barrel changed with the motives. Every year, four new pen were to be issued. In 2001 Roller pens were also manufactured with 4 different cap designs and plain colored translucent barrels.
