In addition to the school fountain pen Pelikano Pelikan from 1973 produced more writing instruments which were tuned to youthful buyers. Colors and design matched the particular taste of that generation and were intended to distinguish the pen clearly from the beginners´ image of the Pelikano.

A conspicuous feature of these two fountain pens are 5 ink windows in the barrel that indicate the level of the inserted ink cartridges.
You might think at first sight that these are two identical models in different colors. But taking a closer look we have already seen some differences. If both fountain pens are put side by side, you can see that the decorative ring between the end of the barrel and the grip section does not lie at the same height. In fact, the barrel end of the red fountain pen is shorter, which is offset by a longer ink window in the barrel, so that both fountain pens have the same overall length. Also, the cap top of the pen is slightly different.
These two models appear to be pure export models. They were found in Italy and the Netherlands.

In addition to the cartridge pen which was offered in three colors there were also two piston fillers offered in the same design and colors (the white was offered only as a cartridge pen). After a long absence, this was Pelikan´s first piston filler to address the low-price segment again.

This fountain pen was combined with an eraser. Instead of the reserve ink cartridge, an erase cartridge was installed. A small cap at the end of the barrel released the eraser tip.
While the standard model in blue with white / pink print was very reminiscent of the youth fillers Twist P20, there was also a variant whose parts consisted only of different color pressings (analogous to the Twist P10). This model is probably an export variant, which was only offered for a short time on the market.
